Note: The examples shown are for systems running Internet Explorer on Windows XP. For other browsers, such as FireFox, the examples may be different. If you have trouble, try using Internet Explorer just to download this application. The examples may also be slightly different for Internet Explorer running on other versions of Windows, but should be similar enough to use these instructions.
If you are running Windows XP Service Pack 2 when you click on "Download" you will get the following dialog: (the download size may be slightly different based on the package you ordered)
Click [Run] rather than the default of [Cancel].
After the download is complete (if you are on a dialup this may take several minutes), you will see
Click [Run] rather than the default of [Don't Run]. This will bring up the WinZip Self-Extractor.
If you are running an earlier version of Windows XP without Service Pack 2
(SP 2)you may see
this dialog instead:
(the exact File name: that appears may be slightly different based on the package you
ordered)
Click [Open] rather than the default of [Save]. This will bring up the WinZip Self-Extractor.
The
installation is automatic. Answer "Yes" to the prompt to install the product.
When the install is complete, it will tell you that an insulator icon, as shown
on the left, has been placed on your desktop. Double click that to launch the
Price Guide Browser.
Three folders are created in the area you unzipped the files into (default is C:\Price Guide Browser).

Browser | This is where the internal files of the browser are. There is nothing "human readable" in this folder. |

Database | If you have also purchased the Price Guide Database, those associated files are in this area. See the ReadMe.htm in this folder for more information |

Fonts | This is where the special Insulator Arial and Insulator Arial Bold fonts are. These fonts contain all the special characters used in the Price Guide. This is a one-time process. See the ReadMe.htm in this folder for more information. |
